Hockey Fan Living Abroad? The Best Links to Free Online Streams of Games.

December 30, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

I’m Canadian, and if you’ve followed this blog for any amount of time, you’ve put together by now that I’m a big hockey fan too. As I’m currently residing in Asia, watching games can be quite the challenge. Major networks like TSN and CBC won’t stream games online outside of Canada. So I’ve been forced to sift through the internet for the best online streams I can find.

You're welcome guys!

You’re welcome guys!

If you’re in the same boat as me, today’s your lucky day. I’ve hacked through all the junk, and compiled a list of all the best links to free hockey games that I’ve found. I’ve got no doubt the game you want to watch can be found at one of them. And for free!

The following links are my go-to’s. You’ll have to wade through them to find the best feed, but it’ll be worth the effort. Most of these sites will require you to close numerous ads to uncover the screen, but they’re all free, and don’t require any players or software to be downloaded.

Here they are (*updated April 2018*):

1) http://www.streamsports.me/hockey/

2) http://livetv.ru/en/allupcomingsports/2/

3) http://atdhe.eu/hockey

4) http://www.thefeed2all.eu/type/ice-hockey.html

5) http://www.batmanstream.com/hockey-live-streaming-video-2015.html

6) http://www.vipleague.se/sports/ice-hockey.html

7) http://allsport-live.net/eng/index.php?type=3

8) http://freezersports.com/nhl.php

bonus) Reddit Hockey’s VLC solution

If you’re ok with downloading software, then download Sopcast. It’s a trustworthy P2P internet TV internal player, and you can stream much higher quality feeds from it than you can from any of the above links. Just be aware through the download process to uncheck all the non-sense it wants you to install along with it. If any of this sounds too risky for you, stick to the links above.

Did I miss any? Leave your favorite links in a comment, and I’ll add them.

Happy hockey watching!

Does this still work when out of canada Dave? I’ll be in Costa Rica for almost the whole 1st round of the playoffs ( so I can’t test it yet) and im a DIE HARD Habs fan. Doubt I’ll find any coverage of habs/sens down there. I ask cause the last comment is over a yr old and I know things keep changing with greedy rogers taking over. Thanks in advance mate

yes, as long as you have an internet connection, all these links should still work. I have been updating the list, but if you find one that’s down, let me know.

Ha, you Flyers fans are just about as serious about your team as us Canadians are about the sport. Happy to help! You think Philly’s gonna be able to turn things around?

Thanks for the sites. I’ve been trying to look for a CDN version of media hint for chrome and no luck yet. This certainly helps!

Is there any site that streams hockey night in canada specifically? The cbc player wont operate on my computer, and tried everything to figure it out?

    • SDC
      May 16, 2014 at 7:37 am

The only thing I’ve seen make that work is using a VPN like Tunnelbear, or something else, then visiting the CBC website. All the other streams are crapshoots on who the broadcaster is.

G’Day, I’m an Aussie and want to follow the Hockey. I followed your SopCast set up, and it sure works but> Do you have a short list of recommended channel numbers to use in SopCast to get to the Hockey please. I tried cut/paste those ‘links’ you mentioned but had no luck with the due to the type of format they are in. Cheers, Elvis

      August 27, 2014 at 5:10 am

I unfortunately don’t have any Sopcast channels bookmarked to share. Wiziwig usually has a few Sopcast specific links in their game links list which I simply copy/paste into the Sopcast address bar. Best thing to do is do a search for a Sopcast link just prior to the game you want to watch and something should come up. Sorry if that’s not overly helpful!

    Thanks for the list.

Was wondering if there are any free sites showing recorded games.
Leafs fan here in Asia so games shown during regular working hours.
Would like to watch (without knowing the results) same gameday right after work.

    Appreciate any and all help.

Hi jets fan here thanks a lot Dave I watched the jets rangers tonite on the VIP link cuz the 1st 4 links didn’t work on my phone and I got tsn3 feed too and for the fans that want to watch an already completed game LIVETV.SX/EN then go to archives and watch almost any sport or game full replay or just highlights, just enter the date you want and all the sports come up for that day, the timezone difference means you may need to enter the day before or day of or day after the real date of the game but they are there, I still go watch last years first jets playoff game in wpg on livetv.sx/en , enjoy and thanks again Dave

looks like a good site. I am also looking to see if I can pay to watch the world cup of hockey this September. Due to the times these games are on, and the NHL games this coming season, does anyone know how to record a game on the computer?

I cannot thank you enough for this post!
I have not had cable for years! And now that I have internet, with these links, I won’t miss a single game!!

    Thank you and take care!

  22. October 14, 2016 at 5:49 pm

Thank you for this! As a fan of a Canadian team living in the States, it’s very hard to see anything except local crap teams. Wish you could find some links for OHL or WHL games as well. Miss being able to attend London games and would love to be able to watch the Knights when they’re being televised.

    • SDC
      November 26, 2016 at 10:34 pm

onhockey.tv and some of the other links occasionally have links to other leagues too. Can’t promise major junior though, but maybe if you check the links on Knights game days, you’ll get lucky.

hey there, first of all thank you so much for this! I can’t miss this oilers ducks game 7! but my question is if its possible to stream it the next day? which site would be the best for that? Cause I’m living in quebec and the time difference makes it so that the game is a bit too late.
    thank you!

    • SDC
      October 11, 2017 at 10:19 pm

I’ve seen onhockey.tv carry a lot of non-NHL games, but there’s no schedule for them, they just appear on the sidebar when they’re being played. I’d try that one.

Cool. Thanks. I was able to watch the Canada-Switzerland game thanks to you. Are you in Korea? I noticed the logo for the Jeju Islanders. My wife is Korean – we’re just in the process of getting her PR status so she can join me here in Victoria soon.

Glad I could help! I was in Korea from around 2012-2015, in Jeju. I founded the Islanders while I was there. What city is your wife from?

Hi I live in Germany and I love ice hockey, but often games are at 4 o’clock in the morning, that is super annoying! Do you know a page where I can watch the games a day later?
