SDC Origins

I’m one of the white suburban males that was buying all the gangster rap albums in the 90’s.  I’ve got an odd affinity for hockey, pro wrestling, and astronomy.  My meanderings often draw similarities to George Costanza/Larry David — minus the glasses and balding.   And money.

Originally from Kelowna BC, Canada, life’s taken me all over the world in different capacities.  I played junior hockey in the KIJHL for the Creston Thundercats in 2001-02, college hockey in the ACAC for Briercrest College from 2002-2006, travelled to Kazakhstan with Athletes In Action to compete in a tournament in 2005, and played one season as a pro in Lyon, France in 2006-07.

I got married in 2007, and my wife and I taugh english in South Korea for a year.  In that time, we also got to travel to China, Japan, and Thailand.  Career-wise, I’ve become a BCRPA certified personal trainer, and a writer.

This blog is all over the road — sometimes hockey, sometimes random, sometimes serious, sometimes shamelessly self-promoting.  I use all my own material, and do my best not to write about things that are already being talked by everyone else too often.  I hope you find it original, entertaining, and maybe even educational from time to time.  Thanks for stopping by!
